Statistical Analysis Plan Review
Submit your proposal knowing you’ve got a solid statistical analysis plan
Perfect if:
- You’re about to submit a grant proposal and want to make sure your statistical analysis plan will help, not hurt, your proposal
- You’re about to your turn in your thesis proposal and you’d like to make sure that you’ve chosen the right analysis
- You’re concerned there are some statistical issues you’re not considering and know that addressing these before you collect data is the best time to prevent problems
Wouldn’t it be amazing to get your proposal accepted the first time so you can get going on your research?
And to know that you’ve not only got a solid statistical plan, but you’ve explained it well enough and used the right terminology that your proposal doesn’t get rejected.
The statistical analysis plan has many parts and it’s hard to get right while being concise and clear enough to get a proposal accepted.
What You Get:
A Statistical Analysis Plan Review will give you an expert opinion on your statistical analysis plan–what you did right, what needs redoing, and what you can do to simplify the analysis. The following areas are reviewed:
Appropriate Analysis
Are the proposed analyses appropriate for the research questions, the design, and the types of variables in the data set?
Design and Data Issues
Are there issues in how you’re measuring variables, designing the study, or collecting data that might create statistical challenges? Did you account for them in your plan?
All the right info
Did you include all the right parts of the analysis that reviewers are looking for, from descriptives to sample size estimates to statistical models?
Correct Terms
Have you used the appropriate statistical terminology in the right places? Is the level of detail appropriate?
While not technically included, if we see any grammatical or writing no-nos, we’ll point them out. We’ve read Strunk and White’s The Elements of Style many times, and we’re firm believers.
How It Works
- Sign up for a Statistical Analysis Plan Review
- Get on a Web Meeting
- Get Reviewed!
- Get Answers to any Questions at a Final Web Meeting
Tell us about your research and where specifically you have concerns. Send it to us along with your statistical analysis plan. If you have a full study proposal, send it along.
Once your consultant has received everything above, and before beginning the review, they will set up a meeting to ask any clarifying questions. They need a solid understanding of your research questions, design, variables, and methodology in order to review the plan.
Your consultant will review the document using Microsoft Word’s Review feature. They will add comments or make changes that you can see directly.
Within a week, your consultant will send the reviewed manuscript back to you. (We can often do it sooner, but can’t guarantee it. If you do need it sooner, ask about availability).
It does not include formatting; for example it does not include checking APA format.
After you’ve had a chance to read over the comments, you and your consultant will have a Zoom meeting to go over any questions you have.
“I owe you a long delayed Thank You for your help with my dissertation last spring. The dissertation defense was a success and I rocked all of the stats questions.”
— Alexis Conason, Psy.D.
